The Language Center of IAIH Pancor organized the Classical Islamic Text Reading Development Program from 1 to 30 June 2024 as part of its commitment to enhancing participants' ability to read and understand classical Arabic Islamic texts (kutub al-turāth) systematically and comprehensively. The program was designed to equip participants with both fundamental and advanced knowledge of Arabic linguistic principles essential for reading classical texts, including Arabic grammar (nahw) and morphology (sarf). Through guidance from experienced instructors, participants engaged in textual analysis, interpretation of content, and practical reading exercises aimed at improving their independent reading skills. In addition to strengthening academic competencies, this initiative served to preserve the rich scholarly traditions of Islamic learning commonly practiced in Islamic boarding schools. Through this program, participants were encouraged to deepen their understanding of Islamic sciences by engaging directly with authentic classical sources. The Language Center of IAIH Pancor hopes that this program will provide lasting benefits and contribute to the development of individuals who possess strong Islamic literacy, critical thinking skills, and appreciation for the classical Islamic intellectual heritage.
